What I saw, I thought it was a pretty nice day of shows. I didn't buy anything but I do like to see the different brands. Most things were way beyond my budget but I still like to look.

I agree, I enjoyed the shows yesterday too. Lots of pretty things but same here, not spending that kind of money on jewelry anymore. I don't even wear enough of what I already own. It was a nice change of pace though.

Having a full day (at least what I saw) of something other than gourmet food, vacuums, or blenders was nice. I wouldn't call myself a jewelry girl, but it's fun to see the sparkles.

Would have been nicer if it was indeed a jewelry DAY (24 hours) and had included more different gemstones in NEW, i.e. garnets, peridots, amber, citrine, etc., you get my drift, and at affordable prices if they are really interested in catering to the Over 50 and Fabulous group. Most of us are retired, have more time to watch QVC, but less disposable income since on retirement and/or social security income, so why the bulk of the day spent showing mega expensive jewelry? That, QVC, is not for your over 50 crowd for the most part. IMO QVC has totally lost their desire to be a channel for ALL their audience. A little of the vault and diamond priced items, sure, that's fine, but any more any time they advertise a gem event, I don't even bother to get excited. Can honestly say for the first time in the over 30 years I have been an avid QVC shopper, I did not purchase one gem item. What they do sprinkle in of more affordable gems are nothing new to speak of. Every gem day they bring out that washed out color tennis bracelet and always offer an affodable sapphire, ruby and emeral selection but again, tried those and the colors are never good. So hopefuly someone from QVC reads this and for next year's gem days or events, goes back to being a channel for ALL! I love to watch jewelry shoes, but at these prices, don't even bother.

@wagirl I have bought exactly 5 pieces of jewelry between late 2012 and now - 2 came from QVC, both inexpensive silver and the other 3 cost less each by far than those 2. Now I wear almost no jewelry and certainly need major money for health purposes, not beauty.
Same with clothes. I just wish I'd stopped adding too much a few years. Now even if I see something I like, I know I do not need it and am not tempted. Not from the Q, but not locally where I've dressed myself 99% of the time always.
Week by week I am thrifting and trashing Creating emptiness on shelves and hangers satisfies more than new and different right now.

@just wonder ---I can understand what you are saying--- when I was in my "fabulous" 50's, I had alot more $$ to spend on expensive things----so by catering to that age group--if they are--I can see selling at that price range. I have so much jewelry, most of which is not high end but is not junk either. I have alot of really nice expensive gems --- you don't see that type of quality anymore-- but I bought them years and years ago at very reasonable prices--now they would be so much more. Not really interested in more jewelry so was not tempted at all. And of course QVC is directing most of its sales to the age group that will buy the most.
That being said--I still enjoy watching the pricey stuff----

I enjoyed all the tanzanite, added a few pieces to my wishlist!
