@SilleeMee Even if the backs are swapped out, the back of the earring or post or wire touches the ear. If not fine silver w/ no nickel, I put clear nail polish on the earring and the findings just in case....

I just swap out my leverback findings mostly for changing the shepherd hooks so that my earrings are more secure.
I like to use large steel clutch-backs on my studs for the counterweight they provide. Makes my studs face forward instead of drooping down. I don't have metal sensitivity so the posts don't bother me.

If the Benadryl doesn't work, you might try an ointment like Neosporin or Bacitracin on your ear lobes and on the posts of a pair of earings that don't cause you to break out. That has always worked for me to heal my ears when I have a breakout....usually takes a couple of days.
