I've taken many pieces of jewelry, I don't wear often enough, & placed then in individual little ziplock bags w/ my 2 granddaughters' names on them. I had my ears pierced at age 4, so I have a lot of tiny pierced earrings, small, delicate necklaces and bracelets I know they'll enjoy. Of course, I'm waiting until I know they can appreciate the value and the pieces won't end up on the bottom of the toy box.

So many of the posters seem to feel the way I do about jewelry. Although I don't "need" any more jewelry, I still want new and interesting pieces to wear.  Then there's that awful regret when a lovely piece I wanted gets away, never to be found again!

I'm enjoying adding to my collection and wearing my pieces. In my dotage, my daughter will have them. It will be a special gift from me to remember me by.

This pretty much sums it up for me as well.  I particularly want pieces with gemstones I don't have, that I want.  I really do blame myself for not buying when prices were better.

You know you could always give some to the family and make room for some new, hehehe

I really don't have "treasures" and not in silver anyway.  I have a couple of designer pieces.  One from Judith Ripka in 18K from her store in New York.  One baby shoes charm bracelet from Aaron Basha in 18K.  The rest are factory made gold/platinum jewelry in diamonds or gem stones.  Of those my favorite piece is a 2 caret Ceylon sapphire in 18K with diamonds.
