I've bought a couple of pairs of the little gold huggie hoop earrings that I love from Blue Nile. Very few places carry the little ones I like that are solid & very weighty for their size. They shipped very promptly & for free & it was a positive experience.

@Kachina624 "Helpful"? Don't make me laugh. You do nothing but criticize, demean, throw shade, and negativity with every post. You're the biggest "know-it-all" on these boards. I'm sorry, but last time I looked, no one had to ask permission from you to post here. Turn off the nastiness and grow up.

While I agree with the general consensus here about the price of gold, I still can't resist the stuff. Occasionally I buy a silver piece, but I just don't want to buy fashion jewelry. It just isn't for me.
Q's prices are definitely over the top. I still haunt the clearance jewelry and the Lunchtime Specials, but even then the price per gram is so outrageous, I rarely buy anymore.

For the first time ever I ordered today a piece of Bellezza from HSN. It's a plated gold 17" necklace in a panther link for approximately $69. I would absolutely LOVE to buy a solid gold necklace but that would be prohibitive for me now. I'm hoping since these are plated in Italy the quality will be good. Many years ago I bought a plated gold necklace in Rome and it still shines today like I first bought it. Fingers crossed for nice quality and color as I bought it to accessorize a dress I recently bought. I remember the old days of gold pricing - wish I bought something substantial then.

what makes me mad is you pay 1,000 for a gold bangle they say weighs 6.65 grams. You take it to be weighed and it's 6.2 . False advertising. they say it's like saying a diamond is 1 ct when it might be .97 points.
think they should sell what they advertise not fudge on gram weight or points on diamonds.
when you buy a lb of bacon it's not 9 ounces is it ?
Crooked, is what I think it is.

@SharkE , it often has to do with whether the scale is calibrated correctly.

Granted, my QVC "gold" experience is dated, (since I havent bought from QVC for awhile now,) but "it was like pulling teeth," trying to get QVC to respond to my queries abt "total gm weight" of their presented "Gold Pieces." Needless to say, I dont think I ever bought a 'gold piece" from QVC, not w/o gm weight, for sure.

@SAM55 ..I agree 💯% that I would love to see solid 14k or 18k gold jewelry. But just so you are aware, any 14k gold that is from Italy is strictly to be sold abroad. In Italy they are only permitted to sell 18K gold or higher.

The piece in question I found here at QVc, but, I bought it local because the jeweler will beat their price what he ordered was suppose to be 6.65, but, I took it to a
jeweler when I got it and he said 6.2. I turned in the company that he ordered from to the BBB. The jeweler called me and I made it clear I wasn't mad with him, but, the catalog he ordered it from and that's who I turned in.
He said like Trinity said every jeweler has their machine calibrated different and if it's not set correct the jeweler is fined 1,000. Then he went on to say a bunch of complicated stuff like how much this and that might be different, the temperature can affect this and that.
It's still better then the 5.9 gram wgt of the QVC bangle at 6.2, but, I just think they should sell what they advertise. According to the jeweler in actual dollars it
only comes out to 37.00 difference. Jewelry is so feather light these days , but, the price is out of this world.
