I'm thinking of purchasing a mood ring.  I really would like to be alerted to my moods.  Are these rings reliable?  I would be willing to pay more to get a reliable one.  Do you own a mood ring?  Are they reliable?

I love mood rings and own several. They are heat sensitive and change color based on your body temperature. They have nothing to do with mood, they're just fun. Mine are most often dark blue because I run warm. My friend has a thyroid condition and runs cold, so it's usually a light green or orange on her. Body temp - not mood.

My husband, being unhappy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day, so he would be able to monitor my moods.

We've discovered that when I'm in a good mood, it turns green.

When I'm in a bad mood, it leaves a big red mark on his forehead.

Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond.

Did April Fool's Day come early this year?  Or should I say late?

I;m serious.  I had one a long time ago.  You can't get them wet.  I think I did and part of the ring surface turned white and wouldn't register anything.  Also it wasn't that expensive a ring.

Yes I remember having one but no specifics. That was about 50 yrs ago. And I agree it probably wasn’t expensive because because back then I had very little money.

I've seen some sterling silver mood rings on Etsy. Some of them are really nice!

Of course they're Not reliable! They were a fad in the 70s - and that's all they were - a fad that went out years ago.

However much fun it may be to lay snark, I’ll make a bet that before too long the iWatch will be able to predict even more health related information than it does in its newest version.

That version (4) can actually be a help in health awareness right now,  and with increasing attention to the mind-body-spirit connection, I expect to see the “mind” connection catch up sooner than later.

I had a “mood ring”  in the ‘70s too, and I’ll most likely be heading for the iWatch 4. Good medicine!

I had a mood ring back in the early 60s.  They were a gimmick then and they are today.

It was strange what we did had back then.  My mood ring and my brother's pet rock.
