Modify pierced Omega back earrings for non-pierced ears?

I just purchased 2 pairs of non-pierced omega backed clip-on earrings. They were my first purchase ever and I love them; so comfortable.

The trouble is, I don't see a lot of omega back earrings in non-pierced. Most are pierced. Has anyone bought them in pierced and cut off the post? Is that possible?

I think I'd need to sand it down smooth too, so it is as comfortable.

But I'm nervous to try this without getting advice first. Have any of you ever tried?

And Q, please more omega non-pierced earrings! I particularly want some in gold or goldtones. I've got plenty of silver already. Thank you!!
