Mixed Metals, unsure about these

I think that I like some of these new designs but when I see the description as "mixed metals" I am uninterested. I have seen how brass and copper can do on other things and I am really not sure that I want these in my jewelry? For those of you who have bought pieces from Carolyn, Robert Lee Morris and other designers, have you been happy with these and is there maintence to them? How do they look after wear and tear?

I want to like them but I just keep holding back.
