I love Michael's pieces; I have been buying them since the good old Gems en Vogue days with solid gold and truly rare gemstones. I love the Gems en Vogue II pieces, but only buy them on sale. I do think some of his prices are out of line, though, for the value of the gemstones. He and host Heather Hall made such a big deal out of the prasiolite and tsavorite ring they presented today for the second time. The stone is a lovely minty green shade, but it is, after all, just an irradiated amethyst and not at all valuable. I do not think the ring is worth anything near the $348 they are asking for it. I love the stone, and after searching online I found a gold-plated silver ring with a 14.5 carat prasiolite and green sapphires for $27! I received it today and it is beautiful. Michael's setting is nicer, and the silver-palladium is more expensive, but it is still, in my opinion, very overpriced.
I did just buy one of hie ouro verde rings on gem day, on sale, and I will say that one is worth every penny I paid! Gorgeous, honking stone, and the sale price was great.
