Matrix Question

Can matrix on turq be white? i always thought it was more of a brown color. Reason I'm asking is at first I only looked at one of the turq earrings that I rec'd yesterday. When I looked at the other one, it had white marks on it and looked a little milky. That seemed odd to me for turq as I'd never seen that before.
