Have you ever purchased a jewelry item that really looked much different when you received it than what was presented on air?  Just 🧐 curious.

They use magnifying cameras that distort features and always make an item look larger than it actually is.  I'm nearly always disappointed by the small sizes I receive.

I especially notice this with Carolyn Pollack jewelry.  I quit buying it as it appears to be an acceptable size but when I get it, its so small I can't hardly see it.  If I'm going to pay those prices, I want it to be noticable.

yeah, the widths are deceiving. only one that was as seen on TV was the magnet 1400.00 one I got. You got no trouble seeing those links. That was clearance price too  EternalGold Rolo link.They still have a few left in either white or yellow gold.

I would totally agree with some items look quite small when you see them in person.   You have to really look at the measurements and they have to be showing the pieces on models and from a normal distance. I've receiveed some necklaces and earrings that looked pretty close to what I thought they would and was happy.    I would hesitate to purchase precious jewelry over the internet unless I was confident.   I know many people do, just be carefule about sizing the piece.

jewelry shops are 100% mark ups I wait for QVC mark downs

pawn shops too. gold and diamonds are the same if they have been on somebody else's fingers or wrists. I get a better bargain.

@Coastalcarolina   Yes, definitely.  Reminds me of the saying on a car's passenger side mirror....Objects in the mirror are smaller (closer) than they appear.  LOL.  Best way to judge is when they hold the item next to a ruler or next to a coin.  Otherwise, can be very misleading.  šŸ’

@Coastalcarolina,

Yes, years ago with an Affinity ring from QVC. The "diamonds" didn't sparkle at all, very dull and the whole ring just looked dark, so not pretty. I did return.

Also a Uruguyan amethyst ring from QVC -the description showed small dimensions so I was prepared but it sure was tiny, though the stone is beautiful. I still love it.

PS! If you are still on the coast of Carolina @Coastalcarolina  are you ok after yesterday?

@Coastalcarolina   Oh wow, too  many times to count. When they show a colored stone, they choose the pick of the litter and the one I receive is usually pale and/or looks nothing like the one presented.

How are you in the storms?  Central NC here and the storm was really scary!!! I saw that the coast got a real hit!

@SharkE   Retail jewelry is sometimes 200% markups. When I sold my jewelry to galleries, they marked it up 150%-200%. That's one reason I stopped selling pieces  except privately...by myself.

Yes! I just received a ring from JTV today that looks sooooo CHEAP! It's going back. Looked nothing like the presentation.
