Re: Looking for a sparkly chain

@Major Shopper   There is a coin shop about an hour away...I was just there a week ago and sold some sterling silverware....the chain purchase was not on my mind or I would have looked at what he had to offer.

I have two rings I have purchased at that same shop, both vintage and I still like them, those shops are a great source for many things.

I also love the sparkle of a Singapore necklace.  It shimmers whenever light catches it and also looks beautiful with pendants.  I own Singapores in both yellow and white gold.

Have you tried Penney's?     I know some have closed but we still have a Penney's in town. I picked up a 20" 14k mariner link chain a couple months ago on a sale/coupon deal. There may be a big spring sale around Mother's Day.

Re: Looking for a sparkly chain

@Mom2Dogs  It's hard to make suggestions without knowing your budget.

Don't reject the herringbone so quickly, when one moves, it sparkles.  I so regret not getting a gold one when they were affordable.  Ropes are not as sparkly as they look brand new because they have so many nooks and crannies that are hard to keep clean and tarnish free.  So something with a flat surface is one.  That box chain is very pretty.  With the box or herringbone, I I would recommend Colleen's advice, when taking it off every day, wipe it down with a jewelry cloth.  If you don't want to take it off, I would get a high quality snake chain.  I have one, very durable.

If shopping for gold, Ross Simmons has lots of pretty sparkly things.  They have lots of discounts that can be layered.  If there isn't one if and when you want to shop there, just wait a few days.

These are three different necklaces:

The one with disks, which I will buy at some point, is called "Italian 14kt Yellow Gold Multi-Circle Necklace".  The paper clip is called Italian 14kt Yellow Gold Paper Clip Link Toggle Necklace, and has a toggle clasp.

This one is sparkly too:

Happy shopping!

Re: Looking for a sparkly chain

Our local Macys is closing in 10 days, they had 80% off of jewlery plus 20% off, I found a necklace Saturday and it was regularly 4,000 on sale for around 650.  I kept kicking myself for not buying it so my husband said lets go back, well too late it was gone.  Anyway I got a herringbone gold over silver regularly 200 got it for 35 also came with a matching bracelet.  It is very shiny!

The one I wanted was 14k gold about 18inches with a toggle in the front with a heart hanging from the toggle.  Still kicking myself!  My husband got a nice ring regularly 1900 for 325.

We also go lots of estee lauder makeup for 40% off.

@spumoni99 I hope you get a good new store in that spot, and not a vacant building.
