Longing for the old days

My hubby's & my 25th anniversary is next month & he told me to look for something to get myself with our tax refund for an anniversary gift (he never knows what to get me!). {#emotions_dlg.confused1} Although I'm a regular shopper I haven't really bought myself any jewelry in a long time as we just haven't had the extra $$ to spend on it but I used to get a lot of things back when Kathy Levine was selling. My favorite color is purple & I'm a Feb. baby so I loved the Brazilian Amethyst she always sold. So I went on & searched the website & can't believe the stuff QVC is carrying anymore! Nothing like the old days! {#emotions_dlg.crying} Everything I see anymore is gaudy or just plain odd looking. I don't want Stainless, Sterling or Southwestern. I remember people complaining about HSN for carrying stuff that looks like this! I just wanted something meaningful, more traditional that doesn't cost $1,000. I guess I don't know what I want but I know I don't want anything sold here. Never thought I'd say that! {#emotions_dlg.sad}
