What ever happened to the Klondike Gold Rush shows of yesteryear?  I used to love those shows and always looked forward to August to get some really neat things at good prices.  A majority of the gold I now own came from those shows.  Does anyone else remember this or is it just me?

Absolutely remember this show. Seems like it always around August 17th. 10-15 years ago I got many items of 14K gold.  When the price of gold went up, QVC had/has few offers of 14k gold and 18k gold. (I do not like brass-mix jewelry, by the way...)

@EZ shopperThose shows were the best fun when gold cost about $400/ounce.

I feel fortunate to have been able to collect the classics in gold during those years.  I'd have to see something really special to buy now - and then, I'd think twice.  I could probably fund a nice trip instead of another gold necklace or bracelet.

I have a few items from back then and wish I bought more - when gold went up all of the items QVC were showing were like dental floss - I would love to see some of you ladies collections from the heday of KGR

 No more Gold or Silver Rush, it is the end of an era.

I'm certainly sad that Klondike Gold Rush was cancelled this year, yet what's funny is that Klondike Gold Rush was always the bane of my existance. Having a second 24-hour gold event when there was only one for silver was a mistake QVC didn't correct until 2003's expansion of Creede Silver Strike. Even if I'm not a fan of gold jewelry these days were traditions on QVC. I guess they feel tradition has no place anymore at QVC. The buyers do their job buying the jewelry, the hosts and models are on-air but what does it mean? The jewelry sale today is not a celebration of the largest gold discovery of North America 120 years ago yesterday, or even more meaningful to us, a celebration of the Klondike Gold Rush that was held every year on August 17 from 1988 to last year. Why even bother holding the Gold and Fine Jewelry around this date if there's no connection to the Klondike Gold Rush? It's insulting to hold it just one day afterwards, telling us this is a day we've all been waiting for, and copying the Klondike Gold Rush logo.

If you'd have told me twenty years ago that in 2016 QVC would cancel California Gold Rush, Big Bonanza Silver Day, and Klondike Gold Rush I would not have believed you.

The hosts would dress in the apparel worn in the time of the KGR, and some said the outfits were uncomfortable!

@colliegirls

I also bought beautiful 14KT and 18KT gold jewelry from the Q when prices were LOW. It used to be so exciting to see the presentations and run to the phone to order. I was just watching for a little while and it's not the same.
