Just got my Kirks Folly newsletter (hadn't received anything in a while) and KF is starting up sales via a website again. For a limited time only, there is a flat rate shipping fee of $4.99 (I don't know when this offer ends).
We can't post links here but you can easily figure out what the website would be by just making everything one word before .com.
There is not much there (yet) and my newsletter also recommends going to the authorized KF dealers on Ebay for a wider selection.
I think this is all pretty interesting and not in a good way. I paid a yearly membership fee on KF's old website to get a disount on each order. That was terminated early when they went out of business on the website. When I emailed them disgruntled about having paid for an entire year of a membership fee only to have it cut short, KF did send me some jewelry items as compensation (nothing great). However, I had to affirmatively email them complaining about having paid for an entire year. I'm sure a lot of people didn't and just lost the rest of their year's worth of membership fee. And now they've started up again.

I was a member of the Kirk's Folly club from pretty much when they first started. I always received a special jewelry item each year only sent to members and I know it more than compensated me for the membership fee. The discount was a bonus on top of that, IMO.
They only closed, when they were blindsided by QVC dropping their line after they had been scheduled for all kinds of shows for that anniversary year. They had a lot of inventory they'd produced for those shows and suddenly no venue to sell them. I'm sure it was a time of great turmoil for them all. After all, they were only a small family business and their biggest retailer had just cut them off with little warning.
When that happened, I got an email from them concerning those who had paid for the annual membership, that they would be refunding it (I believe it was depending on how many months were left). And quite frankly, any members would've already received the membership pin and they didn't ask for that to be returned.
I'm sure you don't mean to imply that they're doing anything underhanded, but that's the way it came across to me. They are decent people and, if they can start up their own website again, I wish them all the best and I'll definitely be checking it out.
I haven't checked my emails yet today but am on my way to do that now, so thanks for the heads up!

If I recall correctly, the membership fee wasn't refunded to everyone; I think it was to the members who had purchased more than one year. I know it was not for everyone's fee because reiumbursement of it was not offered to me which is why I emailed them. Again, I think it was for the multi-year membership.
Unlike you, I do not think the tiny membership pin equated to the value of membership so I disagree about that.
I didn't say anything about being "underhanded" - that's merely your own personal interpretation of my post.

I certainly understand that people see things differently. So I guess I'm puzzled why you'd still be on their email list? If it was a company I had bad feelings about, I'd cut any ties with them.
Sorry you had such a bad experience, but I didn't and I still hope they succeed in whatever they choose to do. (And I did say that the "underhanded" implication was just how I read it.)

@Venezia Well I guess you'll need to stay puzzlled.
Do you have any documentation article or source for why you state KF shut down? I never read anything about what you stated regarding QVC. I'd be interested in doing so.

I LOVE Kirks Folly. I did not know where to purchase their items but found an E-Bay seller who has very nice pieces which I buy now and then. I will be glad if I can buy from them again and wish them well in their endeavors xxxxx Stormy
