Kind of O/T. Can Someone Explain How...

a piece can be a limited edition with only have so many pieces made, but then it ends up on WL in all sizes.

If there are only X number of a piece made, why would it go to WL right away? I can understand there might be a few returns or people will cancel at the last minute, but I can't imagine that number being that large.

And if that is the case, then I think it would just pop back into inventory which we've seen happen in the past.

Am I missing something here? This happened with JR's curb link bracelet, Big Blue and now both of BB's new rings that were aired this weekend.
