You can access the program guides by clicking on "Shop QVC TV" at the top right of every page.

I am so surprised jewelry is not presented more often on qvc...isn't this the time of year when many give gold and diamonds? QVC may have more jewelry shows next week but too many have already purchased at other locations.

I took a long "break" from QVC over the last couple of years. Since my return recently, I've been wondering, where are all the jewelry shows? I've looked at the Program Guide. There just aren't many jewelry shows. Those that do exist are just not designers I care for.
I remember as the holidays approached in years past, there seemed to always be a prime time jewelry show, at least a couple nights a week. Now, I turn it on when I get home from work to the (seemingly 100th!) presentation of the TSV, or a generic feeling "Great Gifts" show, where it feels more like a scramble to empty the warehouse than actually present a "show" focused on specific categories.
I guess, overall, I'm wistful for the programming of years gone by when we got to watch VPH showcase some lovely home decor, or Lisa Mason take us on a Diamonique journey. She had a way with words, and could weave a story with a jewelry show.
I think it must be very hard to compete in today's retail market. QVC is actually a hybrid of what they once were (early era online retailer combined with new era e-retailer), and with that comes change, and sometimes change is hard.
That ended up being a bit of random musing, but it's been on my mind a lot lately. Thanks for reading. Happy Holidays ![]()

Want gold and fine diamonds 24 hours a day, go to Gem Shopping Network. Gems in 14K, 18K, 22K etc. Rarely any silver setting. Same stuff you see in jewelry stores. Yes, they're expensive. Good rubies or sapphires, pariabas, tanaznites etc. go on average $3,000.00-$4,000.00. Lesser looking ones, but decently good will go from $1,000.00 up. All have diamonds, the more diamond accents around any gem, the more in price. Silver setting will get you under $1,000.00 but good gem quality. . They also offer all gold bracelets, necklaces, etc. There are a couple of other fine jewelry networks as well as the cheap ones like JTV. I don't know how they stay on the air. Cheap silver over bronze, etc, Their shows are on 24 hours a day.

Has anyone bought gold jewelry from Costco - in the store or on-line? What did u buy and are u happy with it?
A couple of years ago, I purchased beautiful 14KT wide oval hoop earrings, around 1-1/4" from Costco (in the store) for $120. Great Buy.
I have lots of 14KT & 18KT jewelry purchased from the Q years ago ---- which I love. I used to enjoy watching those gold shows (and buying). A thing-of-the-past.

@kivah Funny you should ask about Costco. Last week I was at the wine store (free taste testing!) and commented to the sales clerk about how beautiful her earrings were. She said she got them at Costco and she also showed me her ring from there. They were beautiful (heavy) 14 karat gold! She said that each week they reduce certain higher end jewelry items and she kept watching these. She purchased the wide-band ring that she was wearing for $77 and the earrings (looked like Arte D'Oro on QVC) for less than $200!
Makes me want to join Costco! Happy Shopping!!!

I think the economy over the past decade has caused the paucity of jewelry. I miss it but, like many others, I do not have the money I once had with which to purchase. My income has, not only fallen, but is below its level of 20 years ago, while everything has risen including groceries, insurance, gasoline, etc. With the increase in gasoline and transportation, came the increase in everything but wages.
