A few months ago I posted that every time I wore my sterling silver earrings, I got a reaction. It was recommended that I buy Ultra Silver jewelry. I bought a beautiful, simple pair of US hoops and they worked great…at first.
Today as I'm out the door to run errands I put them on. Almost immediately, I got that burning, irritating sensation with just a touch of redness on the lobe. I've put them aside for a few weeks b/c the last time I wore them, the same thing happened. I thought time would take care of it.
So, where do I go from here? White gold (ouch)? Does gold contain any nickel?

You could try a pair of Stainless Steel earrings.

Why not try harcon's suggestion?
White gold might not work for you either due to the alloys. Nickel is one of them.

Eternagold doesn't contain nickel. In addition to QVC, you can also find it on Ebay.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
I do have a pair of stainless steel huggers and even they irritate my ears - but not every time I wear them. (???)
Will look into Eternagold. Sure wish I could afford platinum.

I had one pair of earring posts switched to platinum when the allergist told me to give up white gold. My tolerance has improved, but there was NO way I was going to give up those delicate diamond drop earrings. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

My friend raves about these little doohickeys. She told me they make these for most earring styles. I found this picture on Amazon.

kathoderay - this is precisely why I post on this forum. Thanks for the tip and pic. Didn't even know they existed.
