J269710 amethyst or ruby Monaco ring on clearance

I've had this ring in and out of my cart since it was first aired. I would love to hear from those of you who have it. I can't decide between the two gems. I have a couple of really nice amethysts rings, so I'm really thinking I should try the ruby. But I'm such a purple person!!!
