I've been wearing mostly sterling pieces but some of those J. Crew necklaces look really nice and are priced well. I see that several of the outfits presented are accessorized by similar types of bold necklaces. How do the J. Crew necklaces hold up? Are they made well enough to last a few years?

I've only had mine since last spring, but it's going strong. They're very heavy pieces, IMO.
You can also check the Factory Store section of their site for some lighter pieces.

They're very nice. I have a couple. I don't plan on buying more unless they're a really great deal.
I'm not sure how long this trend will last.

I only bought one and had to return it as the clasp came off. Now I only buy my statement necklaces from Kate Spade. They are made beautifully and will last forever. They always have great sales which when I look for them.

I agree that they are nice and decent fashion jewelry pieces. I also agree about the questionable longevity of this trend, as it has been around for awhile now. I'm sure the J. Crew pieces will be around long after you want to wear them. I would buy just one that will go with a couple different outfits.
