Re: Is this chrysoprase dyed?

Unless the description specifically states that the stone is 'natural' then assume that it has been enhanced in some way. Qvc doesn't usually describe their stones in great detail so your guess is a good as mine.

Chrysoprase is not dyed: it is natural microcrystalline quartz with nickel impurities that impart the green color. It is light sensitive and can fade with prolonged exposure to light. Chrysoprase is simulated by dyeing chalcedony green. It is however rare to find natural chrysoprase even in color and free of defects.

Two excellent reviews.  Never heard of this stone and the diamonds are "rhodium plated"????

@banned again @SilleeMee of course you are correct.

QVC would be touting all natural if it were.

@IMW

There's really nothing wrong or bad about treatments/enhancements. That's standard practice for most all gems these days. It's very rare when you run across gems which are entirely natural/untreated.

It's a lovely ring. Distinctive. If you like it, purchase it. Probably not for everyday wear as previous posters noted that the gemstone is fragile. But definitely a special event ring!

I think this ring is originally from vault disc overies. I would ask Peyton on facebook.

@kaydee50

The diamonds are set in a rhodium-plated setting. Diamonds aren't plated.
