I never even knew they existed when my little daughter gave me one for my birthday a few years ago with the letters M O M. I still wear it every day (never take it off) and never wanted any other charms. I just want it to say MOM, because that's who I am. "In" or "out," they'll have to pry it off my wrist.

How sweet of your daughter to buy you a Pandora bracelet with MOM on it. I would not put anything else on it either unless it was another charm from your daughter. I also have one of the bangle bracelets & only wear one charm on it. I have always loved charm bracelets. I have one (not Pandora) from when I was younger. It's sterling silver with charms I got from friends, family & places we visited when we went to Disneyland & places like that when I was a kid growing up.

Re: Is Pandora out of style and dated?

I actually owned 2 silver Pandora bracelets and one black leather but sold one of the silver bracelets and also the leather one. I took a big loss on it on Ebay. I kept one of the silver bracelets with my favorite charms and alternate wearing it with my Alex & Ani bracelets. I was really crazy about the Pandora bracelet when I first bought it but found it to be heavy and that wasn't even with it filled. I liked some play in mine so I never filled it completely. The one I kept has about 12 beads on it and that's plenty for me. I'm more into the Alex & Ani bracelets and have 5 now. Reva

I have a 14kt gold charm bracelet with four little girl charms on it (which grew as each one was born), on the back of each one, their names and DOB, a few other relevant charms. I have it put away, never wear it. Too afraid something will happen to it.

I think they are really cute! But a little pricey for my taste. I do like the look though.

Re: Is Pandora out of style and dated?

my children gave me my two pandora bracelets. they are not full, i like them when they have only 6 or so beads on them, and because my children have given me the bracelets and the charms ... well, they will never be out of style or dated as far as i am concerned.

I never bought the original bracelets, but now love the bangles. I wear them with anywhere from 1 to 5 charms each. Not a fan of A&A, love sterling silver and Pandora just fit better. You can choose from several sizes which gives a better fit. Just bought the Essence beaded bracelet today. Very pretty.

I've never liked it and yes, I think it is outdated for years already.

Pandora and all the others (Troll, Brighton, and even GIV-2) are clunky, overly chunky and unappealing. My boyfriend saw a big ad for them in the mall on our way to his birthday movie, and exclaimed "What an ugly piece of jewelry." The types of charms my grandfather sold in the 30s-50s were delicate and clever. A far cry from the bulky and overdone charms sold today that require buying additional "spacer" beads.

The spacer beads are not "required." It's just an optional choice.
