@Tinkrbl44 Google Tiffany's and the It girls; Tiffany's and new marketing; Tiffany and lower price range. Read it the day I placed my post.
The new ad features some It Girl (blonde and young) on a skateboard, shaking her boobs at the camera in one article. No music, no words. This is their NEW look.

I do not care one way or the other if a line of jewelry is popular. Most of my pieces were special gifts. I have a number of Yurman pieces that I love. My husband grew up poor so still has the mind set that the more you spend, the better it must be. I mix some of my SamuelB pieces with my Yurman. When I wear my SB's pieces alone, I'm frequently asked if they are Yurman.
I do not think classic pieces ever go out of style. On the market they may be replaced by a hipper more modern designer.
Recently a poster asked if Pandora bracelets were still popular. I have a number of Troll bracelets. Many of the charms were given to me by our Grands. I will always love to wear and cherish my bracelets whether or not they are in or out of style.
I say buy and wear whatever makes you happy. Would you not wear an inherited piece of jewelry just because the style is no longer in?

I agree. Dad bought Mom's engagement ring on jewelers' row in NYC back in the late 40s. It's a lovely round center near perfect 2/3 ct diamond with 2 smaller rounds on each side set in platinum. He saved for a long time and was so proud of his choice of ring and honestly, comparing it to my aunts' rings and other relatives over the years, it's among the loveliest I've ever seen of that era.
It's mine now since Mom has dementia. It's definitely a 40s style and I would never change that. She loved that ring and cherished it. I hope whomever receives it when I'm gone feels the same way.

I have a few older pieces of Yurman that I absolutely adore. I'm not a fan of his last few collections. I also LOVE Samuel B. on Evine, and Robert Manse on HSN. They are similar, very well made jewelry lines made in Bali, but at a MUCH better price point!

How sad your mother suffers from dementia.
How wonderful that you are now the proud owner of the ring that your father bought as the symbol of the love he had for your mother. I too would cherish it.

Well it's still popular with me . . . ![]()
I only have two pieces that I bought years ago and mix and match with older pieces of well made silver and silver/gold combinations.
I have a suite of older Judith Jack jewelry that has 14k accents along with the silver and marcasite and every time I wear a piece or two I always get a comment or question as they are very unusual. I haven't bought a piece of jewelry in a very long time and am very happy with what I do have.
I have really enjoyed reading your posts ladies, thanks for sharing! ![]()

He has a store in the Copley Place mall in Boston! I walk by it almost daily and always looks totally dead. That said, it's remained there for a number of years! I would think if the business was horrible it would have closed down long ago.

Jill Bauer wears a David Yurman ring. It's a citrine or topaz. I saw her wearing it on a show and emailed her and she responded that it was a Yurman ring. It was a beautiful, classic design. This was several years ago.

Jill only wears designer jewelry. I remember when she presented the QVC John Hardy line. She made a comment that she could hardly tell the difference between it and her REAL John Hardy jewelry.
