IS IT STERLING SILVER?

I ordered 2 bangles from JR and received them last week. Yesterday I noticed 1 was not stamped 925! I took both to my jeweler and had said if its not stamped it is not sterling silver. Maybe silver tone, silver clad etc. He also tested the large supposedly amethyst stones in one bangle and they came up as glass on a density meter. I am shocked! I e-mailed QVC and they said to return both bangles and they would give me a refund. What is going on here! Ripka items are very expensive and if there is NO real silver or gemstones is this a Rip-0ff?
