I never buy any gold plating over anything.  I just can't get myself to buy it.  Most of my silver is either rhodium plated (simply to starve of tarnishing for a while) or Ultrafine which stays white and has no plating.  Alll the gold I have is mostly 18K with a few 14K thrown in. But I saw this.  His name is David Manse.  I never heard  of him and never got any jewelry from him.  He made a heart out of silver, wilh a solid 18K band surrounding it. I had to get it.  I also like that it's 1" long.   So it can be seen easily.  With tax, etc it's a little over $100.00  i didn't see his show during the jewelry day show yesterday.  I hope his jewelry is good quality. @songbird  His jewelry is nice at least with my experience. I have some of his pieces and really like them but it has been a few years or more.  I have some of his mother of pearl pieces and they still look brand new.  Enjoy your new purchase.

@songbird.  On something like a pendant or earrings which get little touching or rubbing, the gold plating should last a lifetime.  If you store silver properly, you never have to polish it.  An anti-tarnish box is the way to go.

Yeah...I know.  The fact it's a pendant is reassuring. I'll have to look in those kind of boxes.  Since most of my jewelry is gold, I never bothered to get ant-tarnish one..  Did QVC once sell them?

@songbird. No jewelry anti-tarnish boxes at QVC.  Colleen Lopez sells them on HSN and mine have been effective for years.  They usually sell out very fast.
