I gave it a one star and wrote this as the review, “" I too was thinking that this bracelet would be great in gold clad, but what a disappointment when I opened the box and felt it!!!! I knew the color was off, and even more so when I held it next to my 18 and 14K jewelry. Besides the color, it looks cheap. Guess since Judith sold her company, things have changed a lot!!! Her new pieces are no where near her old ones. And now I have to return the bracelet and 5 charms, due to QVCs and Judith’s quality control!!! Tell me, how do companies allow this too happen?!?! No more Judith Ripken jewelry,,,I have plenty from before! ". I’m debating whether to close my account out, since I am returning almost everything lately due to poor quality control. I AM FED UP, AND IM NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

@Flady1Probably a good thing you posted your review here because they may not accept it as a review. About half of it is a general rant.
I'm not disagreeing with you except that I didn't think the older Ripka was any better than the newer, just saying I think lots of what you wrote doesn't review the item.

I almost bought the gold clad tsv but decided against it. I did buy the snake bracelet and the "Y" necklace that looks like it has an egg hanging from the bottom. They were both relatively higher priced items and they are both gorgeous so I guess it comes down to what you order. I have quite a bit of her couture pieces and these stand up to their quality. Maybe the tsv's are made in such enormous quantities that they lack quality.

Well the reviews are definitely mixed. I have so much JR so I didn't go for it. If I was to be honest, she could have left the diamonique off. Just too much phonay with the clad.

I have always thought JR 'clad' looks cheap and phony. Not remotely the color of 14k or 18k.

Im sorry you had to go through all that. I never bought any JR but I was also very dissappointed when i purchased jewelry pieces from here. I ended up returning almost all and thats because i got tired of going to the post office to stand in line otherwise, all of them would be sent back. Its ok to be angry because we see something on tv and think it will look nice, we pay a lot for it and then it comes to us with nothing like it looked on tv. Quality has gotten a hit at the Q. Imo Just shop for those items elsewhere where you can touch them and feel them on. I mean Im old fashioned and thats why i would much rather shop at the mall any day.

I'm glad I didn't order the TSV in gold, I was tempted, but I sent the last Ripka TSV bracelet in gold back, so you would think I would learn.

Why buy a clad piece anyway? My mother taught me well: Buy the real thing, because if lasts forever. I'm sure your 18k and 14k bracelets are great! I have never bought QVC's Ripka stuff because it's just costume jewelry.

@Flady1 I totally understand you being upset. I have a couple of her pieces and they are nice. I wouldn't buy anymore though as I feel her jewelry is vastly overpriced. I mentioned once before on here that I had an opportunity to visit one of her stores when in Atlantic City. It was a horrible experience as the securtiy guard followed us around the whole time. It was ridiculous.

FYI: All clad jewelry can be any color yellow gold or rose gold...there is no industry standard. In fact, silver tone, not sterling silver, often also does look fake next to your real silver pieces.
Different alloys and plating processes as well as the number of layers applied makes the difference. If you purchase plated jewelry, don’t do so if you plan to wear it next to your real jewelry.
Plated jewelry today has fewer layers of plating and is more likely to rub off or turn. Even my platinum clad Diamonique jewelry purchased in the last 5 yrs. is nowhere near the quality it was 10-20 yrs. ago. I’ve been purchasing sterling silver instead...no plating involved.
