The safest way to sell is ebay and Poshmark.  Poshmark is a little easier because everything ships at the same rate so there is nothing to figure out.  Its easy to snap pictures and takes minutes to post something.  Then you avoid any personal contact, or people knowing where you live plus you have the backing of the company if something goes wrong.  If you sell consignment or other methods like pawn or silver shop you will get pennies for what you have.  If you have a nice necklace you could set some good money for it.  I had a pin my mother left me and it was bakelite and I sold it for 175 dollars, I was shocked.
