How much jewelry do you own? How much do you wear? - Page 3

I mentioned my over the top bangle collection here on another thread. I wear my diamond studs or huggies with tiny diamonds every day. I do have many pair of hoops in all sizes...gold and silver, but when the mask thing started, they became annoying, so got back in the habit of small earrings.

I do wear my wedding set, when DH is with me and I know I'll be in a safe place...crime scares me. I've heard it's not a good idea to wear anything that's too expensive because thieves are everywhere. I purchased Amy's oval diamonique ring which is a dupe for mine and wear that one most of the time. If someone takes it, I'm out less than $50 and my engagement ring is in safe keeping.

I also used to wear my pearls with several chains, but again the pandemic and staying home a lot...put most of my jewelry away.

Just when I thought I had everything organized in my top drawers..outfited with felt lined jewelry trays (small and larger sections for bracelets, necklaces and earrings that I purchased from my jewelry supply site), I inherited too many pieces from my Mom who also had many pieces from my Grandma.

I saved some for my GDs and sold a lot for the gold and saved the stones to maybe create new pieces. I had all the pearl strands re-strung and cleaned and put them away with most of the valuable pieces in a safe deposit box at the bank. There aren't many occasions anymore to wear large gold necklaces, rings or bracelets. I have a list of what my DIL and DD have chosen to keep "afterwards". They both have keys to that box.

My 53rd anniversay is next week and I want to get an Apple watch....I have too many expensive watches that I don't wear anymore.

*** I do have several Yurman, Hardy pieces that I collected. To me, it looks weird to wear more than one piece of the same designer, so try to mix it up.

Lifestyles have changed and I can't wear any jewelry for work with gloves, masks, etc. Much of it stays not worn.

Okay, I have often said it's a bit embarrassing to admit the jewlery that I own and the clothing, but that's another story..... I have Lori Grenier's standing jewelry cabinet with the mirror that is totally full. I also have 8 of Colleen Lopez's tarnish free jewelry boxes that are also full. I do wear a fair amount of it but have toned it down as I too am a bit worried about being robbed. So my more extravagant pieces have not been worn out of the house in quite sometime. I have so many different designers and pieces that I just adore. On simpler days I will always have a pair of earrings on and my wedding rings, when I go out I usually can match my outfit with adding a bracelet and/or a necklace.

oh man. The divorced years nearly put me into bankruptcy. Not even kidding. I was charging jewelry, mostly from what was then ValuVision, that I couldn't afford. Eventually had to sell everything at a HUGE loss just to pay my bills. Credit rating went into the toilet. This was in 1996,97. Now I've been happlily married for 21 years to second spouse. Excellent credit because I worked hard to rebuild and learn a lesson. Looking back, it's sad that I thought packing expensive jewelry into my emotional void was going to fix it.

I have 2 grand daughters who will ultimately INHERIT.

I have one grandchild, my deceased son's boy. And my daughter is unmarried, 35, doesn't want kids. She also made it clear she doesn't want my jewelry except for the heirloom Diamond ring that was my gramma's. Darcy wears 8mm Pearl stud earrings and a white gold cross every day all day. She never takes them off. Has swum in the Amazon river, gone mountain climbing, kayaked in the ocean, literally lives her life in these pieces. Anything l left in my jewelry box when I die, she knows she's welcome to donate.

I don't wear any jewelry at home except my wedding band. If I'm going out, I wear my complete wedding set, a watch, a right hand ring, and a necklace. In warm weather I add a bracelet on the wrist without the watch.

I have more necklaces than anything - I counted 21. I wear different necklaces with different outfits. I wear my necklaces more than my other pieces.

I have about a dozen rings, but I wear 3 of them more often.

I have 6 bracelets, but I rarely wear them in cold weather because I'm wearing long sleeves.

I have several brooches/pins, but I don't wear them much at all. I need to wear them more often.

I don't wear earrings.

I have silver, gold, and fashion pieces. Everything is stored in 5 stackable Prestige jewelry drawers purchased from HSN. I also have a watch box that holds 8 watches.

My husband & I just celebrated 25 years. I was 34 when we married, and he was 40, so we married a bit later in life than some.

I'm still wearing my watches. My husband said he would buy me an Apple Watch, but I prefer to select one of my traditional watches, whichever one goes best with my outfit that day.
