How do I clean my Veronese jewelry?

I found some of my old Veronese jewelry in a jewelry box. A filigree bracelet looks real dark compared to my other pieces.

That is vermeil, I would use a soft polishing cloth that removes tarnish.

Veronese is not vermeil. It is gold-clad which is gold plated but the plating is not thick enough to legally call it 'vermeil'. Do not use a silver-polishing cloth on clad or vermeil b/c that cloth can remove some of the plating. Just use a plain polishing cloth or a microfiber cloth. A little Dawn diluted with water for a soak if it's oxidized, rinse then take it out and polish it with a dry cloth.

What about the tarnish?  I'm soaking a bracelet in Dawn today just to see.

@depglass

If the tarnish won't come off after cleaning it with Dawn and rubbing it thoroughly with a soft cloth then it might be wasted. I had a pair of clad earrings that just wouldn't come 'clean'. The silver underneath the gold plating got tarnished and I couldn't get rid of it so I tossed the earrings in the trash.Woman Sad

Re: How do I clean my Veronese jewelry?

I have a lot of Veronese jewelry and what has worked for me is the following:

1. Line a bowl with aluminum foil.

2. Pour enough hot water in the bowl to cover your jewelry.

3. Add equal amounts of salt and baking soda.

4. Place your jewelry in the solution

5. Allow to soak until color brightens

6. rinse and dry your jewelry.

I learned of this method on the Internet. With this method there is no rubbing and it has worked for me on some very heavily tarnishhed gold plated, vermeil and silver jewelry. Over the years jewelry that I've cleaned this way has not been damaged. Good luck.

I had forgotten all about Veronese jewelry.  Do they still offer it?

Also, what happened to Technibond?  I wonder why they don't offer that anymore.

@DottieBlue There are 157 items of Veronese 18K Clad Sterling in inventory with QVC right now. I don't know if HSN still has Technibond.

They don't show Veronese on-air anymore, instead they have "Silver Style" and "Italian Silver" collections with white rhodium, yellow gold clad or rose gold clad options.

@Shawnie

It's a homemade silver cleaner. There are lots of videos to show you how to make and use it online. Here's one I found:
