Maybe the rules have changed but back in the day I remember the hosts saying that they weren't supposed to order anything until they were off the air.

According to some hosts, this is still the rule. Pat has recently talked about it. Then others are supposedly ordering.

I don't think they're really ordering. If they want something so desperately, they could have arranged in advance to have someone order for them. They're well aware of the items being presented and every detail about them. It comes across as very fake to me when they're suddenly overcome with a gasping desire to have something to the point that they're on the verge of hysteria at the thought that it might sell out! So silly.

It's clearly a sales ploy. Although I am not more inclined to buy something just because a host is hot to have it - or if they say they have something in every color - or bought one for every woman in their family for Christmas. I couldn't care less about their personal opinions. If I like it, I like it. I'm not influenced by what someone in sales says - because they'll say anything to make a sale and keep their numbers up. That's their job. Kiss

I was under the impression that the host goes over the content of the show beforehand. Why don't they just note what they want then and have someone order it? I think it is just a play to get us to buy. All it does is aggravate me!
