Good morning ladies. JTV has Herkimer. I am watching a show now. Prices are much better than HSN. I was under the impression that HSN was the only channel that had Herkimer. I have been curious about this stone but always seemed to be over priced on HSN. Prices much much better on JTV. Enjoy your day ladies.

I think JTV has better designs, too. They offer more cut stones and not just the rough ones. I saw a pair of assher-cut studs this morning...very nice.

Cutting these stones defeats the purpose of buying Herkimer. The thing that makes them somewhat unique is that they're naturally formed into crystals....I believe they call them double terminated or at both ends. Other than that they're just quartz crystals which are a dime a dozen. Of course when the get on TV, they hype them to the point that you'd think you were buying the Hope Diamond.

Herkimers are actually harder (7.5), on the Mohs scale, than most other forms of crystal quartz (7). Herkimers also exhibit more clarity than other quartz.

You can buy Herkimer anywhere.
For you to think it's exclusive to HSN shows what good salesmen/women they are.
Herkimer is often used as a healing crystal in it's more natural state but cutting it for jewelry making is not uncommon. It's a better quality of quartz crystal than most common quartz found.
It's all over the internet, you can do your own research.
I was fascinated with the diamond jewelry show last night.

The Herkimer stomes on HSN are from the Herkimer mines in Herkimer County, NY. I went to college w/the owner of the mines... officially called "the Herkimer Diamond Mines." The owner of the mines is not the one who designs and sells the jewelry on HSN.
Checking JTV, it appears the stones are mined in NY - but there is more than one mining area/company in Herkimer per internet search so no indication of which "mine" in Herkimer Co. the stones come from.

Duchess Meghan wore Herkimer jewelry on her wedding day. That created a frenzy about the stone. The owners of the mine were inundated with calls from around the world regarding the gem and now the stone has become even more popular than ever before.

I bought a Herkimer bracelet from HSN when it was the TS a few weeks ago. It's packaged to be returned. Silver findings are cheap and too lightweight to support the weight of the bracelet.
I find that HSN jewelry has really gone downhill.

No she didn’t. She wore Cartier pieces with both her wedding dresses. She did, however, wear them on her trip to NZ and Australia.

Yes, it was ON her wedding day.... Not during the wedding.
She also wore them to Princess Eugenie's wedding.
