Have to exchange Labradorite and DMQ earrings

I got my pierced Lab earrings yesterday after being on wiatlist. I figured they were probably a return as they are still on waitlist QVC.com.. Packed nicely but the earrings have a definire dark line right down the middle on both earrings and you can see the hairline crack on the face of the stone. My ring has a lot of rutilation but no surface cracks. If I send them back for an exchange, I'm worried I could end up with worse.

How has everyone else done with these earrings? I really like them so I don't want to just return them. I have the cuff on waitlist as well and worry that the same thing will happen.
