I have been cautioned about all of the above by a jeweler. I have done this: had a size 8 that I cannot wear ""stretched"" to a 9....jeweler puts it on something like a sizing anvil and taps it slightly all around.....he would NOT size the ring because of the large mabe pearl in it...said he would have to remove it and did not want to; that solution was perfect for me.

I've had quite a few JR rings sized. I usually wear size 6 rings but her size 6 is a bit too small and the size 7 is sometimes too large. So I've had some sized up a half size and others sized down a half size (several with stones). Since I work near 47th street in NYC, I take them to a guy who specializes in repairs and has done a fantastic job on everything I've brought in.
