Has anyone ever figured out the codes?

You know those little Ziploc baggies with the bar codes ... we all get them for jewelry items that are not brand new ...

Has anyone figured out any of the codes?

I'm pretty sure that "rtvewe" is a returned item ...

How about "c/aappa"? Or "c/aawga"? "rebsde"?

Just curious.

Hmmm, I don't ever remember seeing a code; just the item number. I'll have to look now.

Maybe the codes are only on As Is items. I'm always in the clearance section. {#emotions_dlg.blush}

Re: Has anyone ever figured out the codes?

I have gotten tons of these little jewelry plastic packets with various mystery codes. The code is printed vertically on one end of the packet. These are returned items repackaged and sent out as a new item. They send a lot these out during easy pay day or special sale promotions when they are trying to clear out inventory. My codes are usually PCRxxx (PREVIOUS CUSTOMER RETURN??????) Other codes are credit related, I think. I always hate to see the codes at one end of the packets because it means yet ANOTHER RETURN! This makes the entire AS IS concept a joke. Why aren't returns resold AS IS? Some of these items are in good condition, some are disgusting. Ordering is always Russian Roulette unless it is a newly introduced item.

Aren't "as is" items classified as such because they were returned due to some defect or flaw?

If that's the case, just returning something because you didn't like it or it didn't fit wouldn't necessarily qualify it to be sold "as is".

That would make sense, but no.

I've gotten some As Is items that were still in the original packaging, tags and all. That section is a mystery to me.
