I've never done it, but I am thinking about doing it.

I was in one of my local malls and one of the jewelers was offering to re-style from old settings. I'm looking at taking a couple of rings that are sapphire and small diamonds and building it up with my engagement ring solitaire. I was wondering in what price point to expect for them to do something like this? Since the young clerk really didn't have an idea up front what they charged? Does anyone have an idea what they should charge?

I'm thinking of sketching a design myself and asking them to do it.
