Funny, but over time I've pretty much stopped wearing my round hoops, and now prefer the oval hoops.   Wire and snap bar closure.  Sterling, white gold, stainless steel or white bronze.  No yellow whatsoever anymore.

Only those with a clicking mechanism or pin in the tube clicking. Everything else gets lost.

That's a good consideration, Shanus.  I got radical a couple of years ago and cut my hair off in a pixie cut, and it looked just as awful on me as any short haircut ever has, so I admitted defeat and grew it out again.  Now most earrings don't even show!  Short hair can be a real opportunity to show off the gorgeous jewels, congrats for carrying it off well!

@CamilleP  Thanks. Except for a few times in my life, I’ve always worn it short. My hair is curly and I’m petite w/ a small face. Long, full hair overwhelms me, but every now and then I get to chin length before the big chop! I’m more intrigued by spending time on my makeup than hair and yes, definitely, earrings and necklaces are more on display.

When you purchase or wear hoop earrings, do you prefer hoops with a with a wire and snap bar closure or hoops with a straight bar and butterfly clasp?

I prefer either, but like when the earring lays flat against the ear not showing the piercing.

Your preference?

I like the clicker back and the Omega.

My hair is super-straight and baby fine, so wearing it short means I need to really work hard to style it or it looks like I'm wearing a stocking cap on my head.  So I usually wear it long, shoulders or below.  Or I put it up in a pony tail or banana clip if I need it out of my way.

Snap bar, especially the kind that has the 'clicker back' instead of the 'rabbit ears'.

Clicker back or latch back hoops:

These are the only kind of earrings I wear.  Small hoops with this type of closure.

My diamond hoops are made like these. I would be sick to my stomach if I ever lost one or both hoops because of an inferior closure. Clicker backs give me 'insurance'. Never have I lost a hoop with that kind of closure and I hope I never will. FCWoman Happy
