I found a little gold filled watch yesterday in my flooded basement, and it is marked HEUER (NOT TAG Heuer) Automatic, and stamped 10k Gold Filled. It's plain and round, and the face is smaller than a dime.

After cleaning it up and setting it, I found that it keeps perfect time!

I can't find a single comment about Heuer watches. EVERYTHING is TAG Heuer.

Can any of you help me? I LOVE watches, and I LOVE mysteries!

could it be a knock off like they sell in Times square, NY?  Gold filled?  Doubt it's the real deal.

I was curious about your "mystery" so I began reading. The company began as Heuer in 1860. In 1985 The Tag Group purchased a majority stake in the company forming Tag Heuer. If you want more information go to fratellowwatchesdotcom

@violann   Is it a dress watch or chronograph?  Could you post a picture.  Interesting subject today!

I don't know squat about your watch but I feel bad for you that your basement is flooded. Have been down that road more than once so my feelings of sympathy all real.

@violann

Sorry about your basement, but sounds as if you’ve found a treasure!  As others have said, Tag acquired Heuer a few years ago.

They are my favorite watches, I have two, wear them everywhere, abuse them, sleep in, shower in, swim in, still they look great and keep on keeping great time.

Congratulations!

I have an old Heuer (not Tag Heuer) diving watch that belonged to my husband.

Re: HEUER watch??

Did a search for gold filled Heuer watch and found that pre-Tag, the brand made gold filled watches in the 60s. I think you have a little gem, @violann .

Further searching might yeild a specific age. Gold filled is a respectable gold content.

Thank You @FLgardener, I think you're on the right track!

It's a lovely little watch, so I'm happy to wear it whether it's a "find" or not. I appreciate your input!
