Re: Getting a new wedding ring

I wouldn't put any CZ's with the 2 diamonds either.....see what a jeweler would suggest and get some ideas...

Re: Getting a new wedding ring

My original wedding ring (1978) had a filagree band with my marquise diamond. I loved it but the band underneath wore out due to the open design. So in 1995 we went to our local jewelry store and I picked out a new band. I got a quote if I turned in my original diamond, it was quite a heafty deal but I couldn't bear to part with my diamond. So I had my original diamond set into my new band. Its lovely and I'm so very glad I kept a keepsake from my original wedding ring. Heart

Many years ago I got tired of the plain band on my wedding ring which had my engagement diamond.

Just changing the band gave it a whole new lookimage.jpeg

Personally, if you're going to do the two stone thing (which I think is better than incorporating a CZ), I like the two stones on the diagonal vs. the side-by-side.

@petepetey

You need to try on a ring with three 1 carat stones so you can judge for yourself whether or not it's comfortable.  I know for me, it was too wide and rubbed terribly.

As for wedding set updates, my husband has done it numerous times for me.  When we married we had next to no money.  My gold band was a size 4 so there is no way I could still wear it.  My engagement ring which contained the (tiny) diamond from his grandmother's ring, was stolen.

For those of you who are sentimental and would never update your rings, enjoy what you have. There is no reason to put down those of us who have updated ours.
