I'm very sentimental but I think after 25 years it might be time to re-design my wedding ring.
I have 2- 1 carat diamonds, one is on my wedding ring and the other is set in a ring that I wear on occasion.
My thought is a 3 stone band ring, getting perhaps a CZ to fill in for the 3rd stone. I don't really care if the stone is real or not, so I'm ok with this thought.
Would it be too big to have a 3 stone ring with each stone being 1 carat?

When we got engaged my DH gave me his Mom's 1/2 carat diamond engagement ring and told me I could chose a new setting for it. I chose a solitare - plain & simple. About 10 years later I broke it and by God's grace we found the diamond that had fallen off into the grass. DH chose the new setting - the stone sits lower into the ring and has very small diamonds down the shoulder on both sides . I have received other rings from him and other diamond jewelry over the years but I know it would break his heart if I ever wanted to replace his Mom's diamond. I can't possibly imagine replacing my wedding rings.

It depends how big your hand/fingers are, for ex. I wear a size 4 so for me it would never work.
My friend has a 3 stone ring size of the stones..??? and the way they wrapped the stones on the ring she says it is uncomfortable between her fingers, but she does not wear it daily so she deals with it.
Have your jeweler let you try on a few to see how you like it.

2 Stone 'together' rings are very popular right now.

Hubby and I are sentimental about the marriage, but not so much about the jewelry. I am on my third solitaire and both of us were always excited about the success of our marriage, because we have NOTHING when we started.
People are very different about how they feel about certain things. So my advice is do what makes you happy!

It's a personal preference as to what is too big or not when it comes to jewelry. Sometimes your ring size determines how large of a stone or ring you can wear. My opinion is that if you like it then that's all that matters. The setting of the ring and the underside has a lot to do with the balance on your finger. I have small hands and fingers but I love rings. The proper jeweler can do just about anything you want and like. I say, get the ring that you want the way you want it to look and enjoy it.

It sounds like it might be too much. I would look for a sample to try on before pulling the trigger.

Unless your diamonds are very high quality they will look different than the CZ you're planning for the center.

Just me, but I wouldn't add the cz. I'd stick with the diamonds alone.

I'm on my third ring. Lol
I really didn't like my original ring. We traded up. I wound up losing that ring. I was truly heartbroken - I loved that ring. I bought a new 2 carat diamond and added in sapphires from one of my grandmother's ring. I love this ring. I've added anniversary bands
I wouldn't add a CZ to your ring. Look at settings that you can incorporate the diamonds you have and maybe some colored stones.
