I noticed that there seem to be numerous items from this line that will be sold on Gem Day and want to warn people about the poor quality.

I bought the pictured necklace just a year ago as an everyday piece to wear with tees and such.  It has a nice, substantial chain which, unfortunately, can't be used with other pendants.

I got the color combo pictured and after 2 or 3 months of wear I noticed the color of the yellow stone had changed and it was the unattractive color of brown, spicy mustard (or something else).  It obviously wasn't stabilized.  One day I felt it and noticed a rough spot.  Took it off for examination and discovered that I could peel off a layer of the rock with my thumbnail.  Most of the surface of the stone fell off.... Color didn't change, still brown.

I continued to wear the pendant and this week when I touched it, the brown stone fell off in my hand.  The metal loop was so thin it had worn away.  Will now pitch out the whole thing as the turquoise stone is too small and insignificant to wear alone.

I have a lot of jewelry but have never had anything like this happen before.  Buyer beware.

@Kachina624     I was eating when I read your phrase "something else"...!!...   Could you salvage the chain with the circle connector for hanging reading glasses?    di

P.S.    The humidity is still AWFUL here.

@Desertdi    I just tried a pair of my glasses.... too large.  I may remove the turquoise, cut it off, and try one of my smaller Carolyn Pollack enhancers.

I'm about sick of this monsoon.  We've had a month of humidity but only two rains storms.  Thankfully, my swamp cooler works okay even when it's humid.  Albuquerque had another flash flood last night and another person missing in an arroyo.  That's the fourth death.

I think it depends on what you order. I have several pieces that I wear often, and they're all fine.

Don't throw out silver or gold chains.  If you have no use for them, offer it to a local jewelry store that buys gold and silver.  Accumulate broken pieces over time.  A  couple bucks is better than throwing it out.  I look at it as recycling.

I ordered one item from this line and it was a total disappointment and I returned it.

I'm sorry that happened to your necklace. I agree with you about buyer beware.

I also am disappointed in the gem day TSV.  Looks like for a teen or a child. With gold going up, there is not much to offer.  I am glad I got the band rings last time, in the aquamarine and one in blue zircon.  These were the ones people said were rubbing their fingers and had .50 in diamonds. The Aqua still has a few available and one in tanzanite. mine are comfortable, and I think I got a good price at clearance, The gem guy said they were made for QVC, but the tanzanite one is on JTV by the same company.

Sorry to hear these news, the terrible loss of life.  It's usually dry over there, so sometimes towns don't have the infrastructure to handle unexpected weather events.  NYC had the third wettest July on record.  The humidity has been overwhelming.

For me, I like JTV.  Nothing really fancy or expensive but nice.  Shop LC has Chuck Clemency from Shop HQ days.  He's hawking everything from thousands of dollars jewelry to 9.99 wallets.  Odd.
