I recently had all my beautiful jewelry stolen. Much was found at various pawn shops and charges have been filed. I had a beautiful "certified" diamond and ruby set in 14k gold wedding ring (with certification papers) but the certification was also lifted. I have tried everything that I know how to do to trace the records on the purchase of my ring in 1992 but unfortunately, again the jewelry store that my beautiful ring was purchased from has gone out of business. What I am wondering is what are the different certification companies, and how do they differ. I believe that my diamond was certified by a company beginning with the initial "C". If you could explain what the differences in certification companies, it would be greatly appreciated. I know that somewhere...there are records on my ring but have no way to prove it without my appraisal and certification papers. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Dana
