OK I'm annoyed with Mother Nature! Yesterday was Gem Day and I was at work getting things done feverishly because of the impending snowstorm here in Northern NJ. Today, my workplace is closed because of the nasty weather and Gem Day is over! {#emotions_dlg.crying} I didn't get to see one second if it. Why couldn't Gem Day be today? What's on today - blenders and mattresses?!

Just needed to vent!

crazed4gems, sorry this happened to you. Think of it this way: at least you avoided spending money! Seems I'm always at work when these days come up on Q's schedule. Yesterday I was off and due to that, I spent some money I hadn't intended to spend. In fact, I'm having a little buyer's remorse today and I'm considering cancelling the Sleeping Beauty ring and bracelet that are on waitlist/delayed shipping. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Kalli - you are so right. I certainly don't need to spend one more dime on jewelry but it's so fun! And ladies - I know in the grand scheme of life this isn't important obviously but it's fun to plop down on a soft couch and just TV shop and forget about life's problems for a bit!!

But I agree... I got to see some of the end of gem day, but not most of it, given yesterday was a work day. My office isn't closed today, so I might be headed in, but regardless, not interested in today's programming and certainly not the coming weekend's programming, which is all to typically predictable and boring. My gripe was why they couldn't have scheduled gem day on a holiday or weekend... Instead, on those days when watching is an option, they give us the same tired offerings...

I also heard Jane say they wouldn't be having another gem day until summer... What the heck is THAT about. Between now and six months down the road, they can't spare a single day to skip the blenders and computers? Ridiculous. Gem Day used to be Gem Week and it used to be several times a year. The least they could manage is a quarterly gem day...

At least it was a full day. With all the future deliveries, its like they are testing the waters. I think they got badly burned on jewelry during the recession.

I know, today's shows are boring! I wished I had taped the overnight shows. It's not like there was special pricing.

It's also a bad sign when none of the on-air sales people wear it. If I worked at a retail shopping venue, I'd be dripping in the product! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Stevieb - I hear ya! Why can't gem day be on a weekend? How many "In the Kitchen with David" shows must there be every Sunday?!! Oh well....I saved my money!!

Yes - Gem WEEK would be awesome! Shop HQ can do it to some extent why can't QVC? Shop's week will be in February. Can't wait to TV shop there!

See, that's why I don't like any 24 hour presentation. Lots of folks aren't available on that particular day and they miss it completely. Think how much better it might be if they broke up Gem Day and did it over a three day period - eight hours at a time. Then do the blenders and mattresses during the other 16 hours. Or even better for me, divide it up into several four hour segments. Did anyone watch all 24 hours????

It was cold and snowy here yesterday so I watched off and on. I wasn't interested in anything I saw and to me it was kind of "meh." Lots of unusual gemstones that didn't really appeal to me. Most were kind of pricey. That said, I don't need anymore jewelry so I'm glad I didn't see anything that spoke to me.
