well if you consider silver fine jewelry.  Anyway only  18K gold over silver.  No 14K over silver, No Bronz stuff or not even gold wrapped over sand (Silicon).

Personally I've always been afraid the gold would wear or scratch off.  I did try to sell a pair of ruby earrings for a fiend on Ebay, the gold plated 925.  Wouldn't budge at 14.99, so I think others are afraid of it, also.  I'll stick to my "pure" gold and "pure" silver.  Well, I guess the non-tarnishing silver is plated with rhodium or the so-called "platinum."
