I've been watching JTV for a while, never pulled the trigger until recently.

I purchased a Tehya Oyama Kingman turquoise ring.

I'm ok with the color and the matrix but look at the scratches

I have quite a bit of turquoise, mostly good, some so-so

I've never had any that wasn't polished.

There's a big scratch right across the entire stone, & other scratches.

At first I thought it was something sticky, but it's scratches.

$89.99 and free shipping, it's going back.

Sorry that happened to you.  I have never had a problem with JTV jewelry items. My jewelry always arrived in pristine condition.

I feel the same way - too many scratches to keep. Beautiful green stone.

@software

Please call JTV and explain the issue and have them pay for return S&H. I wish your beautiful ring wasn’t scratched.

I'm no expert but to me looks like a..........crack in the stone.  Appears to be definite and deep.

How disappointing that is. I have been ordering from JTV for over 20 years. Sometimes I get garbage, meaning, cracked, cloudy stones, prongs bent and too thin gold on rings— not enough to hold stones in.

On the other hand, I have received some amazing, gorgeous pieces that are exceptional, and at incredible low prices.

JTV also is years ahead re exotic stones, ie Ethiopian opal, chrome dioxide, Masai (color change) garnet,

spessertite garnet, etc.

I only buy gold, I try for 14 k, those pieces are usually not made by JTV but attained through closing, jewelry chains, or bankruptcies.

I've made about 3 JTV purchases, mostly out if curiosity.   I've been disappointed with all of them.  You get what you pay for.

And therein lies the rub.

I'm not the most savvy shopper when it comes to stones, I'm more like a squirrel that just spied an acorn, however I'm not an impulse buyer.

Obviously, since this is my first  purchase!

I stay away from what I don't know which is why I thought this would be a good purchase.  And to think I was more worried about a bad matrix.
