I rarely get into the personal stuff when posting on this forum for 2 reasons: 1) very limited time, & 2) being 66 y.o. & having not been raised w/ computers, I am leery of putting anything personal up on the computer because you really don't know whom you are talking to. In my wildest imagination, it has occurred to me that perhaps there is a forum "lady" who is a 92 y.o. pervert who is seeking clues to someone's kids or grand kids or to their jewelry. That being said, however, I must tell you, Kaplan, that I am so very impressed by the portrait of you that emerges in your posts. I don't get a chance to read a fraction of the posts on the forum, but over the months, as I have read some of your posts, I am struck by one thing more than anything else: & that is, your sense of "other". No matter what you are going through, you seem to make time for a kind word for everyone who posts for you. I would like to be able to say that I understand everything you have been through w/ surviving cancer & w/ having to deal w/ a seriously ill child, but the truth is, I can never even begin to understand. And yet you are cheerful, optimistic, obviously fun-loving, & wonderfully realistic. You could have been bitter, but I have never picked up a trace of that. There seems to be no room in your heart for pettiness, as you have never engaged in any of the mean-spiritedness that occasionally surfaces here. Whatever your other accomplishments are (educational, professional, financial, etc.), the most outstanding one is your sense of other. So Kaplan,...this one's for you!

And now we return to our usual programming of what we do best: shop, shop, shop!!!
