I like it, but I had an emerald engagement ring and it is not a great stone to wear every day because it is a softer stone and scratches easily. For an emerald with that color--that is an expensive rock. Most emeralds have occlusions (I think that is the right word)--they are not flawless like diamonds can be.

I agree @SilleeMee the stones are real I don't think the average person is used to seeing an emerald of that quality. It is beautiful.

Diamonds were not always the popular engagement stone, traditions change. You should choose what you like regardless of popularity.

@Desertdi Who says you can't have both? A Lamborghini would make a nice wedding gift as the "getaway/just married" car as the keys are handed over to the bride.

I who love color like it. I have a ring in that style that is blue topaz and smoky quartz. The blue and brown really look good together. I am not a fan of diamonds -although expensive to me they are boring - just clear, no color.

The green emerald is the star of the ring IMO - makes the diamond look good. I have several diamond rings and they are always my last choice to wear.

My engagement ring was an emerald surrouded with small diamonds.
