I have a drawer full of boxes. I have a large jewerly storage cabinet that I keep everthing in so I don't use the boxes....and why did I keep them in the first place?
I need someone to tell me it's ok to throw away the boxes, thanks!
@Mom2Dogs I'd have way too many boxes. My dresser's top drawer has "velvet" lined trays w/ compartments for jewelry like in jewelry store's cases. I. purchased them from a wholesale catalogue when we moved in this house. My earrings, necklaces, etc. are divided so I can find them.
All my signature bangles (3-5 at a time on my left arm with my watch) are in a glass bowl on top of dresser so I can see and choose each day.

I keep a couple, the rest I recycle.

@Mom2Dogs Just curious why you didn't add "jewelry boxes" to your title? You had room to do it. It would be nice to know topics of posts in the title.

I have some really old boxes, fancy and ornate to plain cardboard. But all have the name of the local jewelry store in them! A few years ago I sorted them and delivered them to the shops that were still in business, just in case they wanted them. Each of them told me how happy they were to have them (some were nearly 100 years old), were they? Hard to tell! But I know that at least one of them put theirs on display in the store.

I have only kept the really nice ones that came with more expensive pieces. I have kept some of the more sturdy ones like American West or Jai and use them in drawers for organization such as my nail polishes and things like that. For storage I love Colleen Lopez Prestige boxes too like @Kachina624 .

No, I never keep the boxes.
Same here. Don't want to take up further space in any drawer, when I can put extra clothing in. I only saved one box only because it had a special LED light in it (ring box) makes my diamonds took 100% better sitting in the box. LOL.

I keep silk pouches and pretty boxes, and couple boxes to ship items back just in case. I don't have space anymore to keep generic boxes.

@Mom2Dogs It's OK to throw them, unless it is Tiffany, Cartier, Chanel, something at the top of the collectible chain. If you or your heirs want to sell, that will add value. I haven't kept any jewelry boxes from shopping channels because it doesn't add value. But I do save and use the pouches, and discard them when they wear out. Good to have those pouches for when I need to store jewelry temporarily somewhere else. I have repurposed some of the foam included in some of the packaging. Cardboard boxes are recyclable.
