I totally concur; most of the jewelry either filled, bronze or lightweight. Where are the pieces that the Q used to sell. Charging a little more for the good stuff is worth it to me. I have tons of QVC jewelry; most of it from years back. I have purchased some of C. Pollack's in recent months, but I notice that it is also going up in price and using more bronze. Forget the bronze; please give us nice solid silver or nice gold.

Most electronic item shoppers are pretty savvy. They just go to google or search engines and get better prices on items elsewhere.
Jewelry is much more subjective...but the lack of quality at QVC is getting obvious.
Another suggestion - Buy one item, pay regular S&H...all other jewelry that day is free S&H.
Jewelry shipping isn't expensive...it would be a moneymaker & encourage larger orders.

I really hope they do something about their 14k jewelry lines.
First, resin clad is not gold. It's costume.
They need to do something about the quality. So much of their gold is cheap 1-2 gram pieces that won't last. I prefer to spend a little bit more for something that will last. They also need to insist that bracelets and necklaces have the links soldered. Seeing the open links makes a piece look cheap and low quality. They also need to ensure bracelets have clasps that are at least as wide as the bracelet. Nothing looks worse than a cheap little lobster clasp on a bracelet that otherwise may have some presence. Bring in better earrings -- leverbacks are my fav....with and without gems, classy/simple styles. And, there are sooooooo many gemstones in the world and Q seems to stick with a very few. I'm sure they could buy more, do more, given their buying power.
Too much of Q's 14k jewelry is overpriced. I have a favorite online retailer that sells top quality gold 14k, 10k, and 18k jewelry.....the 14k starts at about $48 per gram and goes up depending on complexity of the piece....but most runs $48 to $65 per gram. If that retailer can do it, why can't Q...again, given their buying power.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Jewelry isn't the way to go these days. I'd like to see a good, low-cost line of fashion jewlery that appeals to multiple generations. I have a few pieces from years ago, that I didn't pay a lot for on QVC, but I still treasure. Gold and silver are getting way too expensive. People cannot afford these huge prices on gold when a lot of it is gold over resin. I agree Judith Ripka and other lines are overpriced for the what you get. One of the things that annoys me are these luxury handbag lines. Some people really like their handbags, but that's something that makes me turn off the channel. Cosmetics have such a high markup these days that I'm kind of getting jaded on those as well. Keep in mind, most of your audience doesn't shop at Saks Fifth Avenue. We shop at average malls across the USA.
One thing I do like that I've seen is the wholistic views of fashion. Dress the whole person in a way that is practical and affordable. If you can figure out how to do that, QVC, you'll make a mint.

When the price of gold sky rocketed and increased from under 300 dollars an ounce in 2001 to 1800 dollars an ounce a little over a year ago, they had to change their inventory. Jewelry sales were down dramatically everywhere. I dont know the statistics but I would assume many jewelers went out of business.
I dont think people are buying jewelry anymore like in the past. I have read so many times on these forums how greatful people are to have their gold from the past and they would never pay the high prices for the hollowed out skimpy gold that is being offered.
QVC has tried to find alternatives such as the bronzo italia line, and the oro nuovo line. But everyone complains about that. Lets face it..the lucky people who scooped up their jewelry when prices were way more affordable are lucky.. I dont think those days are ever coming back.
I do agree that Judith's line has become overpriced..but people are buying it or they wouldnt have it on all the time. Designer silver jewelry in the market place is outrageous though..have you priced any David Yurman pieces lately..way higher than ripka..Unbelievable really. I saw a sterling silver and topaz bracelet on the Neiman site for 7000 dollars!!
David Yurman also has some new "aluminum" bracelets that are quite pricey.

All the reasons above why I TREASURE my Barry Cord and Bixby and Lois Hill,John Hardy jewelry. Recently I held a John Hardy ring, compare to his other pieces it was lightweight. I don't want my jewelry to weight me down, but would like to feel that's it's there.
JAI (I have a cross pendant) has a nice weight. This year I have boycotted buying jewelry. Have not seen anything different, same old same old.

Well, for me personally, I want solid gold (no mystery metals, bronzo or resin filled goo) and am willing to pay for it even if it is just 1 piece a year. I do not want bracelets weighing 1 or 2 grams. I hate that the Q makes it sound like it's such a bargain for "hefty" gram weights - are you kidding me. Do they think we are all idiots? And the shipping charges are ridiculous on here lately. Also the clothing lines and everything else are mostly all "made in china" and of poor quality. There is little to no uniqueness here anymore. That is only my opinion, but I find I am liking HSN's clothing/shoes better and more importantly they always offer reduced or free shipping and their customer service is superb. QVC is not what it used to be in any category.

QVC needs to go back to the days when they offered products that were different and unique. Nearly everything they offer now can be found in my local stores or online. Recent products are overpriced versions of what I see everywhere. There are lines of clothing offered on QVC that look like they were scooped up from the homeless. The same fabric choices (liquid knit) are offered ad infinitum. Outdated products are stuck in shows and made to sound like the next best thing. Their presentations are old, outdated and phony. Let the hosts relax a little bit and come on with a more personal touch. I suggest you watch some tapes from the early days and see how the hosts related to the viewers. I was reminded this week when Kathy Levine posted on FB some stories about her early days with Joan Rivers. I used to be glued to the set when she was on. No, you can't go back to those glory days of the Q, but you sure can learn a few lessons. I hope management hears us. If not, they may not see us anymore.

I don't buy from the Q anymore, just so sick of the over embellished items..even the steel line is now incrusted w/crystals. Remember the beautiful silver from Taxco? I have more CP jewelry then most, even she has become too "girlie" for my taste. I think this network has seen its better days.
