Re: DIAMOND STUDS

[ Edited ]

Thank you @AngelPuppy1  for your birthday wishes.

I'm taking him at 11AM to get his other cataract removed, so Saturday plans are not on my calendar. I may go get Chinese food for dinner, but that's it. No diamonds since I'm selling jewelry, not purchasing any. Nice thought though. Diamonds are a gal's best friend, right?

I would definitely want screw backs for expensive stud earrings. Given the size you mention, I'd want them to be wide enough to hold them straight in the ear.

I always wear leverbacks. I've had a lot of studs put on leverbacks over the years. They don't stab the back of my ear or pull at the ear hole or stab my head/neck. I feel more secure with leverbacks.

@Shanus

I hope all goes well with your husband's cataract surgery!  My DH is not feeling well right now, so plans we had are put on hold.  I hope we both can have celebrations later on!!!  Yes, I don't believe you can go wrong with diamonds!  All the best to you!!

@AngelPuppy1   Hoping your Hubby feels better soon and maybe you can celebrate next weekend. BTW, my DH's 80th birthday is next Sat. We're 4 yrs. apart in our ages and  exactly 1 week in our birthdays. How's that?

@CalminHeart   Several here have mentioned putting studs on a leverback. Do you mean re-setting them so the diamond sits below your ear w/ that backing and is not a stud anymore?

That's great!  I hope you get to have a wonderful "delayed" celebration as well.  Thank you for your well wishes and I extend the same to you and your DH!

Yes, that's what I meant.

I have done this with a lot of studs. If you want to do this, find a reputable independent jeweler who will order the levers you want in the gold you want and then put the stones on them. Ask to look at the catalog of what they can order so you see all that are available.

I almost always wear leverbacks. They are comfortable and don't poke when on the phone or sleeping.

Avoid chain jewelers like the plague.

Wisely choose your independent jeweler. I checked with friends and an independent jewelry store I went to on occasion and they recommended a great one.
