David Markstein usually makes appearances on the gold shows but he wasn't on yesterday and his name was never mentioned.  Is he no longer with QVC?

You read my mind.  I have wondereed whether or not he is still affiliated with QVC for several months.

He was a capable man, I thought, and I hope he is doing well.

If you go to his LinkedIn profile it lists QVC as a former position with an end date in 2016

I also had the same question about David.  The last poster made an informative ???statement; but I have no clue what she said.  Is David no longer a buyer for jewelry at the Q?

Based on his LinkedIn profile it appears he no longer works at QVC. It looks like his empoyment ended in 2016. Did that help?

YUP - thanks.  That's what I 'thought' you were implying but wasn't positive.  With loss of their best jewelry international buyer - perhaps fewer jewelry shows of the good stuff.

What I loved the most was there was no silicon jewelry

I am sorry that David has left QVC. I liked him. Ralph from Honora also left Honora. I suspect that Honora is going to close completely. They closed their store in New York last year and if you look at their inventory on QVC.com it is only three pages whereas it used to be more than 13.

Things are changing here at the Q. I just hope that the Q reads these forums and see what we want to buy.

I liked David very much and am sorry that he's left.

However, I'm not sure his personal preference in jewelry was quite in sync with QVC buyers.

I used to wonder how much was his own choice and how much was QVC dictating the styles to buy.

When I would hear him waxing lyrical about his latest on-trend find, and how incredible and fresh it was, I used to think: who is wearing that style now? Is it Italians?

He seemed to favour a retro late 70s/status 80s type of look.

I'm no fashionista but I live in a very wealthy NE area. I notice the jewelry of others because I love it and I just don't see those styles on old or young. Some people are wearing status jewelry but not that big hunk of plain smooth gold effect.
