Do you feel like there is an age limit for wearing these? I like them. Just wondering if I would look silly. The fact that I'm wondering that may be my answer. I'm in my 40's.

I am 72 and I still wear them.   I have some necklines that I think a small simple choker looks very nice in.   The younger ladies in my family wear the wider lace ones.

Re: Choker necklaces

The Duchess of Cornwall wore a pearl choker the other day.  I don't know her age, but she looked good!

I love choker necklaces, and wore them up until my fifies.  I didn't have an old looking neck for my age back then, and at age 69 now, my neck is still comparatively good, and once in a while I will wear a choker type necklace, but wear it alittle lower on the neck.

But, I do think they look more flattering on a younger neck.  So, I guess I'm saying it's your call.

I am one for wearing what you like, regardless of age, as long as it looks okay to your own eye and you keep your choices reasonable.  It seems a shame that as we get older we should have to give up so much that we like.

I noticed that Barbra Streisand had one on in a recent photo, and it looked okay on her.

I don't think age matters.  I think it depends on your neck as it will draw attention to that area.

The shorter, the better, for me.   Even an 18" is too long, and I don't want people looking where they shouldn't be.   (I might add, I'm 4-foot something.)
